0 points: You are not a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination. You are probably not even a liberal or a conservative. Just some Nazi nut, I guess.

1-5 points: You have a few libertarian notions, but overall you’re a statist.

6-15 points: You are starting to have libertarian leanings. Explore them.

16-30 points: You are a soft-core libertarian. With effort, you may harden and become pure.

31-50 points: Your libertarian credentials are obvious. Doubtlessly you will become more extreme as time goes on.

Cranky? It may benefit you in long run

Are you a
forty-something grouch who’s first to shout invectives in a slow-moving
checkout lane? A youngster who mocks your dad’s counsel? A graduate
student known for driving your professor crazy with sardonic verbiage?

Take hope: Today, you might be dismissed as a smart-aleck. In your old age, you might be viewed as smarter than average.

Or at least that’s what Jacqueline Bichsel suggests.

Bichsel, a psychology professor at Morgan State in Baltimore,
recently co-authored a study that invites the conclusion that upon
reaching 60, disagreeable people maintain a higher level of
intelligence than more easy-going seniors.

“These individuals have a higher vocabulary,” she said. “They have a better use of words, a better knowledge of facts.”

It also suggests that those dismissed as grumpy old men and women
are often smarter in some ways than the young. The study’s findings fly
in the face of notions that intellect and memory fade with age, and
that has made it a hot topic in the psychology world.

studies suggest that it can be a highly beneficial drink. Researchers
have found strong evidence that coffee reduces the risk of several
serious ailments, including diabetes, heart disease and cirrhosis of the liver.

Ellis T. Jones III, a 20 year old former football player, has been arrested in San Jose, California for allegedly using Craigslist to lure potential buyers and sellers of electronic equipment to places where he could stun them with a taser and rob them.

This is just the kind of thing that could spell trouble for online
services seeking to bring people together in the meatspace (real life).
Jones is charged with 13 felonies over 4 robberies in June. Craigslist
says it’s a rare occurrence, and while that’s undoubtedly true – isn’t
this exactly the kind of story that makes people apprehensive about meeting strangers based on online communication? According to the San Jose Mercury News story on the Jones arrest – there are at least two other people who have been arrested lately for similar but unrelated crimes.

Score another point for online systems based on reputation management and shipping purchased items in the mail. See our coverage of Rapleaf, for example.

Craigslist silently fixes their end in the Cox fiasco

For months, Craigslist had been held up as the poster child
for what can happen in a world without Net Neutrality.  That poster
child status expired last month when we found out what really happened was a simple technical glitch in a personal firewall from Authentium that Cox offered its customers.  The story that started it all
which accused Cox Communications of deliberately blocking Craigslist to
bolster their own classified has since been corrected yet the original
conspiracy theory had long enough legs to reach the US Senate.

Isn’t telling the truth that the whole Cox problem was Craigslist’s fault “good for the community” ?? 

I guess the sky is falling yet again.

governments are mere puppets. I sure hope it’s true. Otherwise my
